These make a cute little pumpkin decoration that the kids can enjoy for the entire fall season without worry of the pumpkin spoiling!
Supplies:
- cardboard (I use the cardboard from an empty cereal box)
- Pumpkin template
- Tissue paper squares cut into 2” x 2” squares (orange, black, green)
- craft glue
- Pencil
- Scissors
Step 1: Print and cut out the Pumpkin template. Trace the pumpkin on the cardboard and cut out the pumpkin shape.
Step 2: Draw on the cardboard where you want to place the eyes, nose, mouth, etc. on the pumpkin. This will act as a guide for placing the tissue paper pieces.
Step 3: Using the flat eraser end of the pencil, wrap one piece of tissue paper around the eraser and dip the end of the paper in the craft glue. Adhere the pieces of tissue paper to the cardboard pumpkin (green for the stem, black for the eyes and mouth, and orange for the pumpkin or use your imagination with any color scheme!).
Step 4: Allow the pumpkin to dry. If you want to hang the pumpkins add a ribbon loop that can be glued to the back of the pumpkin. You can also add a magnet to the back if you would prefer to use the pumpkin as a refrigerator magnet.
