It’s Saturday night and my husband and I have a date night planned! Unfortunately, we had some unexpected expenses last week and as a result have to make this an inexpensive night. The original plan was to go for a fondue dinner and then a movie. The night would have cost us around $150 to $175 dollars between child care, food, and movie tickets. Instead, we have decided to make our own cheese fondue and borrowed a DVD from the library and since we will be home we can sit down to dinner after our son is in bed and there is no need to pay a sitter!
My favorite recipe for cheese fondue is so simple and can be found at the following address:

When it is just the two of us, I halve the recipe so that we do not have too much. Also, when I get to the step to add the cheese to the fondue pot, I add some diced green onions just to kick up the flavor a little bit. Our favorite dippers are green apples, french bread, broccoli, carrots, and cauliflower.
I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we do. Have a wonderful Saturday night!
