Whoever said passing notes at school is a bad thing?
It’s Sunday and that means time to get the kids ready for another week of school. Every day I make sure to write a note to my son and place it in his lunch box. Usually it says something like:
Have a wonderful day!
Love, Mom
It is a little way I can tell my second grader that I am thinking of him. The only problem is there are only so many ways to say ‘I love you’ and ‘have a wonderful day’ and there are 180 days of school so the notes began to lose their appeal to my son.
About three weeks ago, I made a big change and started adding a short silly joke at the beginning of the note. He loves it and it gives my son and his friends something fun to look forward to and laugh about each day at the lunch table.
It is amazing how a little bit of laughter can change a child’s day!
