These fun-to-make tea light holders are great for adding a little spooky atmosphere to your next party or dinner!
Supplies:
- Glass jar with an opening large enough to insert a tea light
- Tissue Paper
- Black Construction Paper
- Mod Podge
- Foam painting brush
- Pencil
- Scissors
- battery powered tea light
Step 1: Take pieces of the tissue paper and glue them onto the clean, dry surface of the glass jar using the painting brush and glue. Try not to make too thick of a layer of tissue paper as you will want the light to shine through.
Step 2: Draw a simple design on the black construction paper, making sure the design is not too big for the glass jar. Cut of the design.
Step 3: Using the glue and foam brush, adhere the construction paper design to the desired spot on the jar, covering a section of the tissue paper.
Step 4: Make sure the entire exterior of the jar is covered in a coat of Mod Podge, so that the jar will last for many years.
Step 5: Once the exterior is dry, insert the tea light into the jar.
For the construction paper design, we made a cat face but some other ideas might be to make a jack-o-lantern face, a bat, a witch’s hat, or a ghost. Your imagination is your only limit!
